Official (legally valid) translations
You can order an official translation of a document from any of the languages that we provide to Finnish. The official translation is confirmed by a sworn translator which makes is legally binding. Thus the translation has the exact same legal power as the original document. The degree of a sworn translator is provided directly by the Finnish National Board of Education.
We provide official translations for both business and individuals’ documents.
The Finnish officials usually require an official translation of the following documents that we translate:
- adoption documents
- driving license
- marriage and divorce certificates
- alimony payment documents
- Chamber of Commerce certificates
- authorisation documents issued by the municipal government
- death certificates
- name change requests
- registration documents

- court decisions
Providing an official translation takes more time and costs more. If you would like to find out the price of the translation, please send a scanned copy of the document to us by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).We will make you an offer and give an estimation of delivery time. Requesting an offer is free of charge and does not commit you to purchasing the translation. The official translation is always produced on paper and sent to you by mail or a courier service.
